Our foundation began with a vision I had, inspired by my own personal circumstances and the realisation of the power of telling stories to challenge stereotypes. During the two years I experienced homelessness, I found hope and a new purpose through a charity project that introduced me to photography. This transformative experience opened my eyes to how powerful it is to capture and share real stories, which led me to create this foundation. What started from my own journey has now grown into a platform dedicated to giving a voice to those facing adversity and discrimination.
Social documentary photography is the heartbeat of our mission. I’ve seen firsthand how it can challenge stereotypes and change perspectives. By documenting the authentic experiences of marginalised individuals, we bring their stories to light in a way that words alone cannot. This visual storytelling exposes social injustices while celebrating the incredible resilience and strength of those who overcome them. Through compelling imagery and narratives, we aim to evoke empathy, promote understanding, and foster a compassionate community.
Telling these stories is not just important to me; it’s essential. It raises awareness about social issues and humanises those who are often overlooked or misunderstood. When we see the world through the eyes of others, we move beyond labels and assumptions, creating a community rooted in empathy and mutual respect. Our foundation exists to bridge these gaps, using the transformative power of photography to build a more inclusive and understanding society.
Our projects collaborate with diverse charities, capturing real-life experiences of marginalised individuals to challenge stereotypes. We use social documentary photography, exhibitions, and publications to raise awareness and spark conversations. Engaging local communities ensures diverse perspectives. We empower individuals by giving them a platform to share their stories, aiming to highlight social injustices and drive positive change for a more inclusive society.
The importance of a community in telling stories cannot be overstated. To truly capture the full picture, we need more than just one perspective. This is why, for our projects, we don’t limit ourselves to working with a single charity or organisation. Instead, we collaborate with a community of organisations to help capture the diverse and multifaceted nature of the stories we tell. This collective approach adds depth and impact to each of our projects, ensuring that we represent the complexity of the issues we address.
Our approach has proven successful. Over the past year, we have been approached by more organisations eager to collaborate with us. We’ve grown from partnering with 7 organisations to almost 40 in just 12 months. This growth underscores the value of a community-driven approach and the trust that these organisations place in our work.
Our community is supported by various organisations that provide funding or host our exhibitions. This network of support allows us to reach wider audiences and make a greater impact. By working together, we amplify the voices of those we aim to help, creating powerful narratives that resonate with a broader audience. Through this collaborative effort, we strive to foster empathy, understanding, and positive change in society.
Join our community and help drive change. Together, we tell powerful stories and foster understanding.
